*** P3/4 St Patrick’s Centre Trip ***
Mrs Macfarlane and Miss Black”s class have been learning about St.Patrick.
Today they visited the St.Patrick’s Centre in Downpatrick to consolidate that learning.
The morning started with drama as “St.Patrick” told his story in a very entertaining way, engaging the children through participation with actions and sound effects.
Next they entered the interactive gallery where they watched and listened to an account of Patrick’s life in the words of St.Patrick himself and about how he came to bring and spread Christianity to Ireland. They then tried their hand at writing their names with quills using the Celtic alphabet.
Next was a lovely walk up to St.Patrick’s grave.
Lunch was followed by a super IMAX experience where the children saw a film showing all the parts of Ireland associated with St.Patrick.
A fabulous day was had by all!
